The Brabender Quadrumat Junior is a precision laboratory mill for milling grain in preparation for analysis.

It has a multi-stage grinding process that you can execute in one simple step, producing laboratory flours that are very close in content to commercially produced flours.

Essentially, it replicates the results of the commercial milling process on a small scale.

How Does it Work?

This compact mill operates a closed grinding process. Its rolls have very small diameters which give the Quadrumat Junior a short grinding zone. Along with the self-grinding effect of the grain particles themselves, this ensures maximum separation of endosperm from exosperm.

The shortness of the grinding process also corresponds to the elasticity of the bran in the grain. This prevents the bran from splitting during milling.

When you add a grain sample, it flows from the hopper through an adjustable feed gate, over the feed roll and through a sequence of break rolls.

Once it has passed through the final set of rolls, the material drops into the sifter. There is automatic control of the sifter's circumferential speed to provide efficient self-cleaning for the flour.

After sifting, the flour drops into a drawer, with the bran collecting in a separate compartment.

With the Brabender Quadrumat Junior, you can obtain flours for laboratory testing that are close to commercially produced flours in terms of quality. Once you’ve milled these flours, you can use them in standard analysis such as falling number or farinograph tests.
